Foam PVC Cutting

Choose the process for rigid foam PVC by edge requirements, feature geometry and the proposed tooling configuration.

Understand the material

Rigid foam PVC is used in sign and display fabrication. The term describes a material family rather than one uniform stock grade.

What makes this job demanding

Dense boards and small features can demand different processing than soft foam. An acceptable routed edge may look different from an acceptable knife-cut edge; adhesive films and surface coatings add variables.

Process and tooling review

Bring the exact board grade and finished drawing into the review. Ask whether the job requires knife cutting, routing or another operation, and confirm the required tooling, extraction and regional configuration. PVC in the BK material list does not prove that every foam-PVC grade is approved.

Typical applications

  • Rigid signs
  • Display panels
  • Fabricated display components

Frequently asked questions

Can the same settings be used for every foam-PVC board?

No. Treat each grade and finished geometry as a separate application. The final process recommendation needs a material sample and the selected configuration.

What should I send for an application review?

Provide the exact stock designation, material construction, dimensions and representative drawing. State the edge finish and part acceptance criteria so the proposed configuration can be reviewed.
