Corrugated board Cutting

Turn corrugated sheets into packaging samples, fitted inserts and display components with a workflow built around cutting and creasing.

Understand the material

Corrugated board combines liners with a fluted core. Flute direction, surface printing and the assembled box design all affect how a blank should be processed.

What makes this job demanding

A clean perimeter is only half the job. A crease that crushes the flute or splits a printed liner can prevent the finished blank from folding as designed. Narrow tabs and small slots also expose differences between tool settings.

Process and tooling review

Plan cut and crease paths separately. Confirm flute direction, hold-down and the sequence of internal features before releasing the outside contour. Test folded samples rather than approving only a flat sheet.

Typical applications

  • Packaging prototypes
  • Folding carton and box development
  • Point-of-purchase display components

Frequently asked questions

Can a digital cutter make a corrugated box sample?

A configured cut-and-crease workflow can produce the blank from a digital file. Validate the fold behavior, joints and assembled dimensions using your actual board.

What should I send for an application review?

Provide the exact stock designation, material construction, dimensions and representative drawing. State the edge finish and part acceptance criteria so the proposed configuration can be reviewed.
